Ashland, California has a handy East Bay location.  Its position north of the Y where I-580 and I-238 diverge, gives Ashland residents quick and easy access to all Bay Area locations.  A convenient Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) station offers those not wanting to brave the East Bay freeways a simple solution for commuting.  Most children living in Ashland attend schools in the San Lorenzo Unified School District.

In the grand scheme of things, Ashland CA is not a major player in the East Bay real estate game.  Most of the homes in Ashland are simple mid-century ranch-style homes, built during the 1940s, with some condos and apartment buildings constructed after 1960.  There are schools and parks nearby, and at the northern boundary of Ashland is the Bayfair Center shopping mall, one of the earliest shopping centers in the East Bay.
