Eastern Alameda County is the best bet for large parcels and acreage, although smaller lots for sale, sometimes within city limits, do come available.  Most have improved roads leading to the property and many already have water, sewer and utilities on site.  Vacant land available in this area includes vineyards and ranchlands set in the rolling eastern slopes of the Hayward Hills.

Vacant land for sale on the western edge of Alameda County has a more urban character, and lot size is typically smaller, although larger parcels are occasionally available.  A careful search may even unearth a prime parcel for sale in the Berkeley/Oakland Hills, offering panoramic views of the Bay and the unique opportunity to build a custom home in a prestigious East Bay neighborhood.
