Bravo to my first time home buyer!  This fantastic modern home is located in the Gilman area in Berkeley. The house, three bedrooms & two bathrooms in main structure and a studio with a full bathroom, is extensively renovated and finely tuned.  This family will enjoy all the things the area can offer: The Whole Food Market, REI, great restaurants and coffee shops!  They are all in walking distance.

The Historic Kingfish Pub in North Oakland's Temescal Neighborhood is celebrating a grand opening tomorrow at it's new location on Telegraph Avenue, about a block from it's original location.  The trek down Telegraph has been pretty fascinating this week, watching the changes taking place.  In addition to the relocation of the Kingfish Pub, two buildings from the neighborhood have also been relocated to this site, and are being restored for use as office space.  It's going to be an awesome merge of original and modern.

Last Sunday on Mother’s Day, my son and I didn’t have plans other than to just hang out together with our Chihuahua Terrier, Dhino.  It was overcast earlier in the morning but about 2 o’clock in the afternoon, the sun came out and it was a beautiful day.  We wanted to take Dhino for a walk and I realized my son, who lives in San Francisco, had never been to Lake Merritt.  It’s been a favorite of Dhino and mine since the grand re-opening celebration of the renovation of the walkway in June, 2013. So off we went for a wonderful day walking, meeting lots of other dogs, joggers and the great eclectic microcosm of folks that make up the population of the East Bay.

Congratulations to my buyer that just closed escrow on a great condo at the Pacific Cannery Lofts located at 1201 Pine St. in West Oakland, for $382,000!

This 1-bedroom, 1-bath unit was laid out across 783 square feet and featured 17-foot ceilings throughout, bringing lots of light into this loft-like unit. The unit featured views of Downtown Oakland and the surrounding neighborhood, and having been built in 2009, was in almost new condition.

The Pacific Cannery Lofts is a community of 163 units designed by San Francisco architect David Baker and Partners. It's located in the hip West Oakland neighborhood, and is just a short distance from public transportation, Emeryville shopping and the convenience of Downtown Oakland.

Just this week, the San Francisco Chronicle published an article discussing something that many San Francisco residents probably already know: Rents in the City have set a new record. The average apartment rental price in the first quarter of 2015 was a whopping $3,458, higher than any other large city in the country!

Moreover, high-end buildings in some of the City's most popular neighborhoods now have 1-bedroom apartments that are $4,000 per month or more. It's no surprise to me that over 50% of buyers I've represented in the last year have been San Francisco residents that are moving to the East Bay.

Despite all the news of a competitive East Bay housing market, there are still lots of opportunities to buy a home in Alameda or Contra Costa Counties

Congratulations to my buyers that just closed escrow at $625,000 on this adorable home in Oakland's Maxwell Park neighborhood, located at 2744 Maxwell Avenue. My clients were from Marin and fell in love with the Maxwell Park neighborhood when I introduced them to it a few months ago.

This home features 3 bedrooms and 1 bath within 1,275 square feet of living space. The home had been completely remodeled -- new kitchen, bath, flooring, landscaping, foundation work, and more. Due to the excellent condition and some great curb appeal, there was a lot of competition for this home, but in the end my buyers were the best of 14 offers on the property.

The home also featured a large, unfinished basement for storage, a spacious, private backyard with

Prepare to be blown away by one of the best Eichlers you've ever seen!  It is rare to find a home with gorgeous mid-century character impeccably preserved yet tastefully modernized.  In fact, this home was recently featured in the Spring 2015 edition of Atomic Ranch magazine for its outstanding renovation.

Designed by noted architect, A. Quincy Jones (Jones and Emmons) in 1963, this 1,656 SF (per tax records) mid-century modern oasis has 4 bedroom, 2 bath, with an open sky, glass walled atrium at the center of the home recently freshened with new concrete flooring and gorgeous cacti.
