You don't want to miss this year's  Autumn Lights Festival at the Gardens at Lake Merritt, held next weekend, Friday and Saturday 18th & 19th.  This wonderful two night art exhibit/festival was created as an annual fundraiser for the Gardens, to achieve the goal of $200,000 to fund redesign, landscaping and irrigation.  The plan also includes enhancing the entrance of the gardens by placing a wrought iron gate (designed by local artist Shawn Colvin) set into a stunning setting, creating the Oakland Landmark the Gardens at Lake Merritt deserves to be.
