The 9th Annual Eat Real Festival is back in Oakland’s picaresque Jack London Square on the waterfront the weekend of September 19-21. Eat Real is more than a festival, it’s a celebration of food, wine and brew with a focus on sustainable local ingredients.
Featuring over 70 vendors, price of admission is FREE and most vendors charge under 8$ for a nice helping of food.
I attended last year and was astounded by all of the fabulous food vendors, food crafters, street food and short classes available to learn more about food preparation and ingredients. Last year I took the charcuterie class and learned the differences between a variety of types with a tasting of 6 different salamis, that also included a glass of locally brewed beer!
Eat Real is Oakland’s biggest food festival; expect to see unique food trucks, local wines and brewery beers, demonstrations by local chefs and food artisans, a variety of classes and live music!
What a perfect way to top off the summer! See you there!
