Development Solutions Seascape LLC (DSS) has filed for formal approval for a mixed use development of a 10 acre site in Richmond's Marina Bay neighborhood. Consisting of 255 live/work resdiences, the project seeks to replace a delapidated industrial building located on the corner of Marina Way South and Wright Ave. DSS has already purchased the lot, begun intitial environmental remediation studies, and provided the neighboring community and the city of Richmond with it's conceptual plans. Not only does this project seek to continue Marina Bay's growth as a vibrant and hip community sitting just across the Bay from San Francisco, but will implement the City's General Plan and add a new tax base of approximately $110 million. Now that Richmond's Marina Bay has won unanimous approval to become the next commuter ferry departure point to San Francisco, an increased supply of new housing will be welcome news, as will be the inevitable increase in local real estate values.
