Bushrod, Oakland Real Estate & Homes
Bushrod is a pleasant part of North Oakland that gets its name from nearby Bushrod Park. Bounded by Martin Luther King Jr. Drive to the west, Claremont Avenue to the east, Highway 24 to the south, and Woolsey Street to the north, Oakland’s Bushrod community is about as far north as you can get before crossing over into the neighboring city of Berkeley. Outside of Bushrod Washington Elementary School and a few local parks, most of the Bushrod neighborhood consists of residential development, offering potential home buyers plenty of single-family home options that range from bungalows and cottages to larger two-story houses with a traditional design.

Bushrod Real Estate
Outside of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, which acts as Bushrod’s western boundary line, Shattuck Avenue is really the only other somewhat busier street that runs through Bushrod, making it one of the quieter neighborhoods on Oakland’s north side. Single-family homes pretty much dominate the Bushrod real estate landscape, but there are a few condo and apartment buildings here and there that mostly sit alongside MLK Jr. Drive or Shattuck Ave. Like in many Oakland neighborhoods up on the north side of town, look for most homes for sale in Bushrod to start somewhere in the $700,0000s and top out somewhere close to $1.2 million.
